Accounting and Payroll Administrator Certificate - Certificate
This certificate program will provide students with the opportunity to learn basic accounting and business principles, and to become trained and certified in payroll administration. In the practicum, students have an opportunity to work at various small and mid-sized businesses within the lower mainland. The purpose of this time is to apply the theory and skills learned throughout the program and observe professionals in practical situations. As well students will acquire situational-specific skills and identify areas that may need to be developed further. Students receive feedback and evaluation of their performance and gain valuable contacts in this diverse field.
Graduates from the program can expect to find employment with proprietorships, partnerships and corporations in a computerized office environment. The program focuses on the enhancement of skills needed to work in a Canadian office, and the course devotes much time to providing in-depth coverage of Canadian taxation, and fundamental accounting principles in Canadian business. The latest computerized accounting and office software and plenty of free lab time ensures that the student will have the knowledge, skills, and competency to enter this labor force immediately upon graduation.
